Editor's note

Blade Runner 2049 (2017), directed by Denis Villeneuve, continues the legacy of its predecessor with Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch paying homage to Vangelis' original score while introducing new themes. Their music enhances the film's dystopian future, blending synthetic and organic sounds to reflect the blurring lines between human and machine. The score is as visually stunning as the film itself, a sonic landscape that complements the narrative's depth and the visual splendor of the world Villeneuve creates.
